Dial |
See through "Spaceview" dial with the hour markings and minute tick markers imprinted on the crystal, in white. Allows you to see the inner workings of the electronic movement. This was initially designed to be "salesmen samples" so that Accutron could show off its new electronic movement, but the public were so blown away that they demanded that this see-through dial approach become the standard for this model. |
Case | Very rare asymmetrical case with 14K gold inlay. This was released in 1960 and only in 1960. Thereafter, the case design changed. So these are exceedingly difficult to locate. In addition, there were only 4 months of production in 1960, with the first Accutrons selling in October of that year. Most Accutrons made that first year of production were solid gold. There was one other stainless steel model, with a 14K bezel, which, while also rare, is more common than this 14K gold inlay model. Case back marked 122612 with date code M0 (1960). Inside of lid signed Star Watch Case Co. |
