||Very Large 35.5mm
||Perfect, early WWI era officer's watch. Original porcelain dial with black Arabic numerals with original hands and finished with a sunken second subdial.
||Sterling coin silver (0.935) Borgel case with mark next to the large mushroom gold crown. Diameter (without crown) is 35.5mm and 41.5mm lug to lug. Takes a 14mm strap.
||All original signed Longines Watch Co. movement with 11 jewels, 3 adjustments and serial 2886534. Comes with a 6 month written mechanical warranty for your peace of mind. Keeps good time. To set the hands, depress pin just below the crown to engage the setting mechanism.
||To remove the movement of a Borgel cased watch, first pull out spring loaded crown so that the winding stem is clear of the movement. Then the movement and bezel with the crystal unscrews out of the front of the case in one piece. Rolex used Borgel cases to improve the dust and moisture resistance of their watches, eventually culminating in the Rolex Oyster. A great early military piece in fabulous condition!
